Since the 1960s, Dewey Street in Redwood City has been known as Candy Cane Lane for the month of December. The street has evolved from primarily wooden cutouts to a mixture of lights, lighted figures, wooden cutouts, and all other manner of decorations. Different yards have different themes (Peanuts, Rudolph, etc.) but the unifying themes are homemade stovepipe candy canes in each yard, and banners over each garage with holiday greetings in different languages.
Each year, the street is closed to traffic from 5-9 pm several evenings for performances. In 2025, those dates are:
Studio S Broadway Dancers – Date TBD
Tuesday, December 16, 6:30 pm, Fully Saxxinated Quartet
Thursday, December 18, 6:30 pm Redwood City Saxophone Orchestra
