Geolocation Tips

GEO LOCATION:  DO NOT USE IF YOU HAVE YOUR ADDRESS ENTERED CORRECTLY. Your address is actually more accurate than the geo location (latitude and longitude) We are keeping the feature for now, as it may be needed in isolated cases. Do you want to learn more about geolocations?

    1. “Geolocation” can be used for “directions” to your residence, but, the address seems to work better. Find your geolocation using Google Maps and Directions. Directions Here.
    2. Enter your street address.
    3. Right-click or Control-click on your marker.
    4. This will open a pop-up window. You can find your latitude and longitude in decimal format at the top. Copy the coordinates, left click on the latitude and longitude.
    5. To format your coordinates so they work in Google Maps, use decimal degrees in the following format:
      • Correct: 41.40338, 2.17403
      • Incorrect: 41,40338, 2,17403

      Tips:

      • List your latitude coordinates before longitude coordinates.
      • Check that the first number in your latitude coordinate is between -90 and 90.
      • Check that the first number in your longitude coordinate is between -180 and 180.
