My inspiration is Clark Griswold from Christmas Vacation. That scene where he plugs in the lights and the look he has when the lights finally light up and he yells to the family is my inspiration. I play that movie in my garage while I set up my lights. It takes me roughly a week to fully set everything up.
I have a total of 30,000 lights this year. I have been building my Christmas light display since 2011 that started with a strand of icicle lights and some rope light. I have been adding around 3-5,000 lights every year. I have it set to music for your enjoyment.
My house is in the flight path and I hope that the display gives joy to any child or adult flying into Orange County at night.
