Maricaibo Lights

We moved to San Ramon in 2017, and when the holiday season came around, started decorating the house with the traditional lights and a couple yard decorations. But I'd always been curious about doing more to control the lights, and in 2019 started with a simple outline of the house with animated light patterns but no music. 2020 brought the pandemic, and a desire to bring a "bright light" into an otherwise dark time. So adding in the music, and some additional props, we hope we added a bit more joy and happiness in the neighborhood. Now, in our 6th year, with over 6,500 lights set to music, with new songs regularly added throughout the season, we hope you enjoy the show! If you're curious about the technical details: the lights are primarily RGB pixels, programmed with Xlights, controlled by a Falcon Controller and Raspberry Pi. Very little of this hobby is plug-n-play, and involves a lot of design, construction, painting, wiring, electronics, soldering, networking, computers, software, and then troubleshooting when things don't work as planned. Throw in some creativity and artistry, and you've got a labor of love that we hope you enjoy!
