Description:
The Fairbanks’ Family Christmas Display returns for its 37th year in 2023. The display has changed drastically over the years, in so many wonderful ways. It all started with our father’s hand bent rebar forms on the roof, covered in miniature incandescent light bulbs using electrical tape, to the animated LED they stand with today. Santa and his reindeer can be found flying through the night sky, with Rudolph over 45’ off the ground, his red nose leading the way. You will find them all flying over our 18’ tall Frosty the snowman, not only animated this year tipping his hat to all of our guests, but now with a fully animated face as well. The display involves over 30k pixels in total, covering our home and our neighbors, with close to 300k total channels being used. This year you will find the addition of singing Christmas trees, a collection of over a dozen synchronized songs, as well as other surprises we have in store. We invite you to watch and listen to the light show from the comfort of your own vehicles, while tuning the radio to 99.9 FM. If you would like to enjoy the show from a closer perspective, you will be able to press our new giant red button near the front sidewalk, to play the synchronized music from speakers located within the display itself. We do ask that you not block or park in front of any of our neighbors’ driveways while viewing the display! We have always loved putting this display on for our community and appreciate the recognition we’ve received over the years, including NBC news doing all of the evening news weather reports live from the roof with Santa and his reindeer one year. Most importantly though, our favorite part is seeing parents that grew up with the display, bringing their children back all these years later to share the memories they had as kids, with their own. The display will be running between 5:30-10:00pm nightly, from Thanksgiving evening through New Years day, weather permitting. |
